I played a critical part in the recent growth of the business with attracting new clients through our social media platforms. 

 

Beaver Valley Launchbox | Beaver, PA                          

Marketing Coordinator, August 2018 - May 2019 

Beaver Valley Launchbox is a Penn State University sponsored start-up accelerator that helps and support students and community members in starting their own ventures. The launchbox offers education and training programs, workshops, and seminars around innovation and entrepreneurship as well as provides advisory and mentorships to aspiring entrepreneurs.  I was responsible for community outreach, marketing and event management activities of the Launchbox. The activities included designing and promoting social media marketing campaigns, managing traditional marketing activities such as designing posters, and flyers, as well as organizing events. I successfully organized a series of workshop and a networking event in the spring of 2019. I was also instrumental in forging partnership with the local libraries for the community outreach of the LaunchBox programs.

Responsibilities included day-to-day office tasks, planned as well as marketed a wide variety of events. Helped in the making of social media posts and traditional marketing material. Interacted with small businesses in the Ambridge Area to gain chamber memberships, also tracked membership dues. Also, attended monthly chamber meetings and many networking meetings and events.

Office Assistant, Summers 2012 - Present

Participated in everyday office tasks such as, typing, mailing, copying, faxing, filing, answering phones, taking messages, payments, etc. While also learning basic skills of the insurance business. I became the motivation for them to start a Facebook page to help them become more known, I do not decide what they do but I have helped them with how to post, what to post and what applications to use to make things more appealing.

Participated in the planning and set up their annual Worldwide Candle Lighting event for the past eight years. Played a major role in the planning of three Angels Across the USA concert events, this included the contacting of the main person, setting a date, time, and location, as well as working on flyers and marketing the event through the group, the community, and online.

Finalist in Campus Idea Competition, Fall 2016

Participated in a shark tank style event for students of Penn State. Was given the chance to compete in the top 5 of the campus and was awarded 3rd place. To be a part of this I had to come up with a unique business idea, then meet with an advisor to polish the idea, after that I had to create a pitch to present to a panel of judges and answer question they had about my idea.

I was in charge of making sure everything went smoothly from the beginning. This included making sure the others knew what they needed to do and when to have it done, making the social media content and flyer content, getting the word out around campus, setting up the event, and also taking pictures and videos of the event.
